I have been having my hair cut by Bev Ryrie for just on 30 years now. The first time I met Bev, was all those years ago when I had been extremely busy at work and I had one of our major manager’s meetings “creep up” on me and I had not had time to get that all important haircut. A phone call to my regular hairdresser on the Wednesday before the meeting resulted in – “really sorry Barry, but I am flat out all day”.

A discussion at home that night with me bemoaning to my wife that I should have booked in a haircut earlier led to my wife finding Bev’s Mobile Hairdressing in the local paper. A phone call to Bev and her response was “I am really busy, but I can get to your place at 9.30pm that night.” – Are you serious?  I thought – That would be fantastic! Thinking that a hairdresser would surely not come to my house at 9.30 pm – I waited with some trepidation.

Sure enough 9.30 pm there is a knock at the door and it’s Bev – Wow!  I thought. She cut my hair and I was very pleased with the result. When I conveyed the story to my colleagues at the meeting the next day they were amazed (keeping in mind this level of service was 30 years ago). The exceptional service and great haircuts have continued now for 30 years, with many more to come and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Bev.

I first sought Bev’s service approximately 15 years ago. I had been into the CBD the day before, confident that this was the place to go, to be ensured of a ‘good cut’. For all the words of assurance I had been give… “hair-growth pattern, we’ll shorten it here, leave length here”. I was trusting??!!  I ended up frantic; I had long bits and short bits that I didn’t know how to deal with.

A one car family at this stage, it was then the weekend, my husband was at work and I had no transport. I explored mobile hairdressers and found Bev Ryrie. She arrived on my doorstep like a ‘ray of sunshine’. And does so with every visit.

Since that time, I have never looked elsewhere… and wonder what I might do, should Bev come into ‘good fortune’ and retire… Not that I don’t wish her well… but this is about me… and you.
